Profile: British by birth, living and working in Portugal, film fan since before I can remember. I certainly saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Rex Harrison Dr Dolittle (what a drag that was!) on first release. First films I really remember come from 1969: The Italian Job, Monte Carlo or Bust (Those Daring Young Men in their Jaunty Jalopies, if you prefer), and the greatest ever Bond film, On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I seem to have an affinity for 'cult' films before I realise they are 'cults', such as: Catch Us If You Can (John Boorman), The Sandwich Man, The Day the Earth Caught Fire. At the moment I'm busy discovering some hidden gems among 1950's British 'B' films.
